Chelsea and Manchester United are heavily interested in Fenerbahce’s Archie Brown. The English left back has attracted the eyes of the English giants. Fenerbahce are reluctant to entertain any bid for him as they don’t want to sell him. But it will be difficult for the Turkish side to fight against the Premier League interest.

Chelsea and Man United are seriously monitoring Archie Brown

As reported by TEAMtalk, English clubs Chelsea and Manchester United seriously like Archie Brown. Both the clubs want to finalize a deal and sign the left back. These Premier League sides are desperately looking for quality left backs. They want to strengthen that position before the season kicks off.

Chelsea have been heavily active in the market to improve their left side of the backline. Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid has left a big void at that position. The Blues need a perfect replacement for the Spanish full back. The Club World Cup winners have Jorrel Hato on that position but need someone who could give competition to the Dutch full back.

In the very beginning, the Stamford Bridge side were discussing for Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo. But he chose to sign for Spanish club, Atletico Madrid. Then they moved themselves towards Rayo Vallecano’s full back, Pep Chavarria. However, the transfer negotiations have been paused there which signalled Chelsea to search other options.

Fenerbahce’s Archie Brown is the latest figure they are focusing on. The English left back had delivered some sparkling performances last season in Trendyol Super Lig. Chelsea had sent their scouts and have been nothing but impressed. Xabi Alonso wants him at Stamford Bridge because he believes that he is agile, positionally flexible and has attacking nature. Man United are also in the race as they are seriously keeping tabs on his growth. The Red Devils were following him when he joined Fenerbahce last year from KAA Gent.

Fenerbahce will not prefer any transfer move for Archie Brown

The Turkish side has clarified the situation internally that Brown is not for sale. Ismail Kartal’s side does not want to sanction a sale for the 24-year-old within just one year of his arrival. The Englishman is a crucial member of the team and is a part of their long term project. As reported by The Hard Tackle, Nottingham Forest came with an offer for the defender. But Fenerbahce rejected the Premier League club stating their least interest to let him go.

Man United are thinking beyond Lewis Hall

As reported by Sky Sports, Man United are primarily targetting Newcastle’s Lewis Hall and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson for the left back position. But given the difficulty in convincing Newcastle United to sanction a sale, Jason Wilcox’s recruitment team has shifted attention to other potential options. They are doing their homework properly while selecting their targets.

The 24-year-old left back had a strong debut season in Turkish football after arriving from Belgium. He is also successful in becoming one of the Super Lig’s most energetic attacking full-backs. His performances have naturally pulled eyes from England. Moving to England would be his homecoming because he came through English academies. Previously he was a part of the academies of West Bromwich Albion and Derby County. Later he moved outside England for his betterment and regular gametime.
