That arrival left little room for Alejandro Garnacho going forward. As a result, his game time had started to shrink. Manchester United sold him to Chelsea last September for close to £40m, with a ten per cent sell-on clause included. Yet his output at the club was modest. As reported by ESPN, Chelsea wanted close to £42.5m for a permanent switch. Alejandro Garnacho, meanwhile, stayed away from pre-season training during the process. His future needed sorting first. That figure is close to Chelsea’s reported £43m valuation of the player.
