Chelsea officially confirm 28 pre-season squad numbers – Read Chelsea F.C.
Chelsea have confirmed the shirt numbers that Xabi Alonso’s players will wear during their tour of Australia and Asia.
The Chelsea pre-season squad numbers include No.2 for Marco Palestra, while Cole Palmer retains No.10 and Liam Delap wears No.9.
A 28-player group has travelled to Sydney for the first stage of Chelsea’s preparations. Further first-team players will join Alonso’s squad during the tour after receiving additional rest following the World Cup.
Chelsea have stressed that the numbers are only being used during pre-season. They may not represent the final squad list for the 2026/27 campaign.

Chelsea’s official announcement confirms the Blues will play five matches across four countries. Western Sydney Wanderers provide the opening opposition before games against Tottenham, Juventus, AC Milan and Johor Darul Ta’zim.
Palestra taking No.2 is among the most notable selections, although supporters should avoid treating it as permanent. Several established players are still due to join the tour and the club will confirm its final 2026/27 numbers later.
