Chelsea Ace Will Miss The Rest Of The Season

Chelsea interim manager Calum McFarlane has confirmed that Estevao won’t play for the Blues again this campaign.
The Brazilian picked up a serious hamstring injury during the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United last weekend, and asked about the player’s fitness in his pre-match press conference, McFarlane said:
“Estevao, unfortunately, won’t play for us this season. He will be out for a little bit of time. We’re not sure how long he will be out for, but he certainly won’t play for us again this season, unfortunately.”
“That’s really unfortunate for him, especially for someone so young and talented as he is, but we are here to support him and be around him.”
Estevao could miss the World Cup
The teenager was pictured leaving the pitch in tears during the loss to United, and he clearly knew even then that he had suffered a major injury.
Of course, the implications go beyond Chelsea, with Estevao hoping to play for his country at the World Cup this summer.
At the moment, there is only a very small chance that he will make the trip to North America. The decision has been made not to undergo surgery, with a more conservative treatment plan having been mapped out instead.

Other Chelsea injury news
McFarlane also provided updates on the fitness of both Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds.
Pedro has missed the last two matches with a thigh problem, while Palmer sat out the 3-0 defeat to Brighton midweek after tweaking his hamstring.
Both players have returned to full training, but McFarlane said that he did not know whether the pair would be in contention to start at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
