Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is making his mark on the Blues’ squad during this summer transfer window, with plenty of incomings and outgoings under the Spaniard

Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks with Como over Trevoh Chalobah.

The Blues have already rejected two offers from them, and talks have continued between both parties ever since. At least two other clubs have shown interest in the England international, with Inter understood to be long-term admirers and another unnamed club in the race to sign him, according to sources.

Chalobah, 27, is said to be keen on moving to Italy, with Chelsea open to selling the central defender this summer and wanting a fee in the region of £30-35million. Maxence Lacroix is in line to effectively replace him.

talkSPORT report that Como have made a third offer for the Cobham graduate, which is said to be worth £26million. Their bids continue to fall short of the asking price, but these latest reports claim negotiations are set to accelerate this weekend.

Cesc Fabregas has made Chalobah one of Como’s main targets this summer. They were also briefly team-mates at Chelsea.

Antonio Conte named them in the same squad three times during the 2017/18 season, including the FA Cup final against Manchester United. Chalobah, however, did not make his senior debut during that campaign despite breaking into the first team.

He went on loan to Ipswich Town the subsequent season, midway through which Fabregas moved to Monaco. A further temporary move to Huddersfield Town was next for the defender.

Chalobah eventually followed Fabregas across the English Channel after a third consecutive season on loan, this time at Lorient. They eventually shared a pitch when their two new teams met in Ligue 1.

Both players came on as second-half substitutes during a 2-2 draw at the Louis II Stadium in Monaco. Benoit Badiashile also featured in that match, helping the hosts earn a point by assisting Wissam Ben Yedder’s 93rd-minute equaliser.

Chelsea have launched their new away kit for the 2026/27 season, said to be a celebration of the club’s ‘Italian Renaissance’. It’s designed with a black base and gold trim in tribute to their transformative 1990s era.

After making 112 appearances on loan, Chalobah finally made his Chelsea bow in 2021 and has gone on to play 150 more times in blue.

Four-and-a-half months at Crystal Palace to start the 2024/25 season revived his career at the club. His spell in south London was followed by the defender making 47 appearances across all competitions last term.

That is more than he managed in the previous two seasons combined, and senior international recognition has followed over the last 12 months. However, despite receiving his second cap in the World Cup bronze final, Chalobah’s days at Chelsea appear numbered.
