West Ham centre-backs Dinos Mavropanos and Axel Disasi have formed an excellent partnership recently.

The Hammers have conceded just four goals in their last six games, including clean sheets against Fulham, Wolves and Crystal Palace.

If West Ham are to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season, the defensive duo will be a key reason why.

Mavropanos has now opened up on what January signing Disasi is really like as a leader in the dressing room.

Dinos Mavropanos reveals Axel Disasi influence at West Ham

Mavropanos and Disasi have emerged as Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-choice centre-backs in the second half of the season.

They have pulled away from Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman in the pecking order and are likely to start every remaining game.

Many even believe Disasi is responsible for Mavropanos turning his West Ham career around after a difficult 18 months.

Mavropanos recently explained what the Chelsea loanee is really like and how he inspires his teammates to play better.

“He’s not one of those players who’s going to scream, but his presence shows what he brings to the team,” he said on the Iron Cast Podcast.

TRUE or FALSE? Dinos Mavropanos has been West Ham’s BEST player in 2026 🔥

“Some players speak more and give more energy to the dressing room. For me, I’m a quiet player, but I like to show my effort and character on the pitch.

“I think Axel is in between; his presence and the ways he talks to others is great.”

Disasi certainly appears to have struck a balance between vocal leadership and leading by example at West Ham.

He has made an immediate impact at the London Stadium and could be the main reason the Hammers stay up.

West Ham will be desperate to sign Disasi permanently and pair him with Mavropanos in the backline for years to come.
