Even though Chelsea had to pay £117m for Morgan Rogers, supporters are still very happy with the attacking midfielder’s arrival.

However, many in the Chelsea fan base probably would have preferred Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.

The Blues have actually been linked with the winger, but a move is now highly unlikely.

Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke and now Pedro Neto! Why do our Premier League rivals always want to sign players not rated by the fan base? What aren’t we seeing? 😵‍💫

According to L’Equipe, Chelsea have expressed interest in Barcola but the 23-year-old does not consider them a viable option.

That is likely to be because of their lack of Champions League football. Whatever the case, how do the Frenchman and Rogers compare?

Well, interestingly, despite playing fewer league games and minutes, Barcola was still able to outscore Rogers. In 29 matches, Barcola scored 11 goals, while Rogers netted 10 times in 37 outings.

However, the PSG star did not register as many assists, recording just one. Rogers finished the 2025/26 campaign with six.

Delving into their stats a bit more, their averages for key passes were exactly the same. According to WhoScored, both players made 1.3 key passes per game.

Their averages for dribbles per game were almost identical as well. Barcola completed 1.2 on average, while Rogers’ number was 1.1.

What are you thoughts on Bradley Barcola reportedly snubbing Chelsea?

Barcola was not as efficient as he was in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season when the France international recorded 24 goal contributions in 34 appearances. However, he is still one of the best young attackers in the world.

Their numbers are quite similar, but Barcola is seen as having the much higher ceiling.

All in all, Barcola does appear to be available, but Chelsea are not in the running to sign the former Lyon man after a disastrous season.

In Rogers, though, they still have a very good attacker who can make an impact on the left-hand side. Whether the England star is worth £117m is another matter, but he should improve this Chelsea team.
