Chelsea refuse to give up on Alex Scott transfer with ‘new bid inbound’ in fresh twist
Alex Scott is still on Chelsea’s transfer shortlist, and the Blues could well soon test Bournemouth’s resolve with another approach ahead of the new Premier League season

Chelsea are reportedly considering making a second bid for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. The England Under-21 international has been linked with several Premier League clubs this summer as midfielders continue to be in high demand.
Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Elliot Anderson have already moved between English clubs this summer with nearly £400million spent.
As a result, Scott is expected to cost a significant amount but the Cherries are adamant he will not be leaving. An enquiry and subsequent £64m offer from Stamford Bridge for Scott was unsurprisingly turned down, but that has not deterred Xabi Alonso’s side.
According to Sky Sports Germany, the Blues are considering submitting a new bid for the 22-year-old. Scott has appeared to provide Chelsea with an incentive to issue another proposal having turned down a new contract.

Manchester United have been linked but are seemingly looking at cheaper options while he is one alternative to Bruno Guimaraes from Premier League champions Arsenal.
Scott featured in all but one of Bournemouth’s Premier League games with his highlight, as a boyhood Tottenham fan, likely being his winning goal against Arsenal.
Despite his north London allegiances, he is reportedly open to joining Chelsea and their spending would hit over £200m if he does make the switch with Marco Palestra and record-signing Morgan Rogers set to be joined by Maxence Lacroix.
He is in the process of finalising a move from Crystal Palace for £52m, with Jan Paul Van Hecke’s move from Brighton to Tottenham, which was also agreed at that price, used as a yardstick.
Some departures have also been sealed with Marc Cucurella joining Real Madrid and Alejandro Garnacho heading out on loan to Aston Villa, just 12 months after signing from Manchester United.
More outgoings are expected over the coming weeks with one of Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap or Emmanuel Emegha expected to depart permanently. Villa have also shown an interest in the former with his name brought up during Rogers talks.
Enzo Fernandez is one player expected to stay despite strong links to Real Madrid with it now appearing that their focus is Manchester City star Rodri.
Former head coach Enzo Maresca has arguably already replaced him at Etihad Stadium with Anderson but they are also targeting Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and a move for Malo Gusto now looks unlikely.
