Alex Scott has been linked with a summer transfer to Manchester United, but it is Chelsea that are making real moves to sign the Bournemouth star

Manchester United transfer target Alex Scott is set to be the subject of a second bid from Chelsea. Several Premier League clubs have been linked with the Blues making an opening offer worth £64million that was turned down by Bournemouth, who have set a clear stance that he is not for sale.

Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have already arrived at Old Trafford but a third midfielder is being targeted. Carlos Baleba, Aurelien Tchoaumeni, Manu Kone and Scott appear to be the main options under consideration.

The latter duo appear to be the only targets that other clubs are interested in with Chelsea and Arsenal just two mentioned. Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes is the focus of the Gunners while it appears Xabi Alonso wants Scott.

Sky Sports Germany have stated that Chelsea are plotting a fresh bid for the 22-year-old. Scott has already handed potential transfer suitors an incentive to sign him after rejecting a new contract offer from the Cherries.

If he does depart Vitality Stadium, it is likely to be for a sizeable fee following record-breaking moves for Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson.

The former was of interest to United but they were blown out of the water by Tottenham’s wage offer and £85m proposal submitted to West Ham United. United went on to sign Santos and Tielemans for that fee.

Scott featured in all but one of Bournemouth’s Premier League fixtures, with his standout moment — as a boyhood Tottenham supporter — arguably being his match-winning goal against Arsenal.

Despite his north London loyalties, he is reportedly willing to join Chelsea, whose spending would surpass £200m should the transfer go through, with Marco Palestra and record signing Morgan Rogers set to be joined by Maxence Lacroix.

United have been linked to his soon-to-be former Crystal Palace team-mate Ismalia Sarr with attacking additions possible this summer but only after another midfielder joins.

Kone is likely to be the cheapest option while Yan Diomande and Rodri may have presented United with a huge market opportunity for Tchouameni.

Real Madrid are in talks to sign both the RB Leipzig winger and Manchester City star which will almost certainly require a significant departure to be sanctioned.

That could come in the form of Vinicius Jr, however, with Arsenal exploring a sensational move to sign him.

Baleba is seemingly back on the radar of those at Old Trafford with the 22-year-old likely to cost significantly less than the £100m that United were quoted last summer.
