Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has reportedly been slapped with a four-year ban by the FA.
The 25-year-old has not played for Chelsea since he was initially banned in December 2024 following a failed drugs test. He was subsequently charged with a breach of the governing body’s anti-doping rules in June the following year. Mudryk maintains his innocence.
However, Mudryk is set to remain sidelined for longer after reporter Ben Jacobs posted that Mudryk has been given a four-year ban which is being appealed in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
It was reported earlier on Wednesday that Mudryk’s doping case has gone to CAS, with appeals filed by the Ukrainian on February 25, 2026. The parties exchanged written submissions and a hearing is yet to be scheduled.
Mudryk has been given the maximum punishment possible, although previous precedent indicates that the sanction would include the 16 months he has already spent on the sidelines.
The Blues winger last pulled on a Chelsea shirt in November 2024 in the Conference League before he was sidelined after an “adverse finding in a routine urine test.”

At the time, an FA spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations.
“As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.”
Mudryk reacted to the failed drugs test as a “complete shock” and insisted he had “not done anything wrong.” Chelsea launched their own internal investigation and refused to allow him to train with the first-team squad. He has instead been training alone at non-league club Uxbridge FC to remain in shape.
The forward arrived at Stamford Bridge from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 in a £62million deal. He penned a contract with the Blues until June 2030 with the club holding an option to extend his terms for a further year.
