Barcelona should make Chelsea star Joao Pedro their number one target ahead of Julián Álvarez this summer.

Sport report on comments from Bojan Krkić Sr, a former scout at Barcelona. He has offered his advice to the Catalans ahead of the summer transfer window.

Barcelona search for a striker

The newspaper explains that the potential signing of a centre-forward has become one of the most hottest and talked about topics surrounding Barcelona in recent weeks.

Reports have made it clear that the Catalan giants will target a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowksi this summer.

A list of options is being looked at. Report have claimed taht Chelsea’s Joao Pedro is on that list. He’s impressed at Stamford Bridge this season following a big money move from Brighton last summer.

His current tally is 19 goals and nine assists in 46 games this season, 14 and eight of which have come in the Premier League. That has not gone unnoticed around Europe.

One of those watching is Bojan Krkić Sr, and he thinks the Brazilian should be top of the list.

“If I had to choose, I’d go for João Pedro over Julián Álvarez. He fits much better into this system,” he told What are you playing with?

Big impression

The former scout then went into further detail about the Chelsea star, labelling him an ‘incredibly complete striker’.

He believes the 24-year-old is capable of doing everything. He can play with his back to goal, drift out wide or finishing with great efficiency. In other words, he’s all rounder that would fit in nicely.

That, combined with his numbers and a belief Chelsea have a ‘financial urgency’ to sell players makes him an ‘attractive prospect.’

Krkić, then, has put his recommendation in. Whether Barcelona act upon that, remains to be seen. With financial limitations of their own, getting Joao Pedro out of Chelsea may not be an easy prospect.
