Updates On Levi Colwill, Reece James & 3 Others
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is in full training with the rest of the Blues’ first-team.
However, the 23-year-old has yet to be included in a matchday squad this season following his recovery from a serious knee injury.
Colwill played 90 minutes against Middlesbrough in an Under-21 game last week, but his overall fitness is not currently at the level required for Premier League action. Consequently, he is not expected to play any part versus Nottingham Forest on Monday night.
There is still an expectation that the defender will feature before the season comes to an end, but the medical team is clearly being VERY cautious.
Expected Return Date – May
Reece James
Reliable journalist Fabrice Hawkins initially reported that the club captain may be out for up to “two months”.
That timeframe was initially dismissed by those at the club, but it looks like Hawkins was bang on the money.
James has not played since the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in mid-March. He has already been on the sidelines for the best part of six weeks.
While he could play in the club’s final few fixtures, he hasn’t been pictured back in training yet.
