Barcelona makes moves sign Chelsea star Joao Pedro
Reports from Spain claim Barcelona have made informal contact over a potential future move for Chelsea forward João Pedro, as the Catalan club continue to explore attacking reinforcements for the summer window.
Barcelona’s interest is driven by uncertainty over their striker options and the difficulty of landing top targets, with João Pedro seen as a more attainable alternative. He has registered strong numbers in his first year at Stamford Bridge, combining goals and assists while adapting quickly to Premier League demands.
However, CHELSEA’s stance remains firm, with reports suggesting they consider him a key part of their project and are unwilling to sanction a sale unless an extraordinary offer arrives.
Despite the Spanish giants’ admiration, there are strong reasons why a summer departure looks unlikely. Chelsea only signed João Pedro recently and view him as central to their long-term attacking rebuild, making any negotiation extremely difficult.
The club’s valuation is reportedly around €100 million, which further complicates Barcelona’s pursuit given their ongoing financial constraints. In addition, the player is believed to be focused on securing his place in Brazil’s squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup, reducing any incentive to force an immediate transfer.
With Barcelona still prioritising other striker targets and CHELSEA maintaining a firm “not for sale” position, the current links appear to be more exploratory than advanced.
Unless there is a dramatic shift in either club’s stance or Barcelona’s finances, João Pedro is expected to remain in London beyond the summer window as both sides reassess their attacking plans.
