Callum McFarlane says Cole Palmer is not off form
Chelsea interim boss Callum McFarlane has a differing view on Cole Palmer’s form than many others out there right now.
Personally, I don’t think we are seeing the best Cole Palmer right now and we haven’t been for a while. When he first came to the club from Manchester City, he literally carried this team for a whole season and if it wasn’t for him, things would have been very bad. It became Cole Palmer FC at one point. But since then, he’s not quite showed the same top levels and had the same effect. For me, that’s just a fact, and for many others it is as well because I’ve seen all the analysis and opinions.

But McFarlane does not agree apparently. And of course, he’s entitled to his opinion. But in this instance, I think his opinion is incorrect, and so will many others.
McFarlane on Palmer
In words quoted by The Evening Standard, McFarlane said:
“I don’t agree with the narrative that he isn’t playing well. I think there are games where he can impact more. But there’s also been a lot of occasions where he’s created a lot of good chances for players.
“He can’t control whether that’s finished (off), he can just put the ball in the position that he needs it to be. I do think he’s had some really good games in the last three months, and it’s just a case of building that consistency.
“He’s still a top, top player, one of the best in the world for me. So I have no concerns over Cole being ready to impact games from now to the end of the season. And hopefully in the World Cup, in big moments for England.
“There’s not much difference, in all honesty. He’s the same person. He plays the game. We’ve all watched Cole Palmer enough to see the freedom that he plays the game with.
“He sees things that other people don’t see. It was very similar. He was just doing it at a higher level against a higher level of opposition. But very much the same type of player.”

Moises Caicedo is currently struggling for form, but Aston Villa star Matty Cash has claimed he does something better than most other players.
Marc Guiu is keen to leave Chelsea this summer, and his preference would be a loan move back to Spain according to reports. I personally believe Chelsea should just sell him permanently now and make some quick cash on him.
