A surprising half time change for Chelsea against Nottingham Forest has seen Levi Colwill come on for his first appearance since August.

Chelsea are 2-0 down against Nottingham Forest at home, and they’ve got no attacking options on the bench with Liam Delap already having come on.

At the break, interim manager Calum McFarlane has brought on Levi Colwill for his first appearance since doing his ACL in preseason. This was his first appearance on the bench, and we didn’t think he’d get more than a few minutes at most.

Chelsea try to gain something from horrific home fame

The only way this game can get worse is if we see Colwill limp off again. This feels a risky move, but we can only assume it’s been cleared by all the medical staff.

If he successfully navigates the second half today, that should put him in line for another appearance this weekend, and a start as soon as next week.

It will be a crumb of comfort from another horrific game, but at this rate we will take anything.

In other news…

Cole Palmer’s penalty miss and Jesse Derry’s horror injury made a bad first half into a true nightmare for the Blues.

Malo Gusto’s mistake handed Forest their second goal – some of the most brainless defending we’ve seen in weeks at Chelsea.

The first goal was just as stupid. Chelsea left huge gaps in their defence meaning that Dilane Bakwa could pick out a cross and Taiwo Awoniyi could head home after just a few minutes.
