“What a rubbish player he really is”

Chelsea fans are furious with Malo Gusto after his performance in the 3-1 loss at home to Nottingham Forest. The Frenchman gave away a silly penalty in the first half when they were 1-0 down and helped the away side double their lead.

Taiwo Awoniyi headed the relegation battlers into an early lead, scoring inside 100 seconds at Stamford Bridge. He was chasing a loose cross from Dilane Bakwa when Gusto pulled his shirt back, and VAR awarded the away side a penalty, which Igor Jesus easily converted.

Awoniyi doubled his tally and made it 3-0 for Nottingham Forest early in the second half, before Joao Pedro scored a stunning goal late in the game to make it 3-1. The scoreline remained intact, and the Blues slipped to their sixth successive defeat in the league.

Chelsea fans were quick to point fingers at Gusto for his performance, with many calling for the 22-year-old to be sold this summer.

The Frenchman has been in talks over a new deal at Stamford Bridge, despite having over four years left on his contract. The defender has been a regular in the starting XI this season, even when Reece James was fit, as the Englishman was playing in midfield.

Jamie Carragher hits out at Chelsea owners once again

Jamie Carragher spoke about Chelsea after their 3-1 loss at home to Nottingham Forest, calling the Blues a broken football club. He claimed that the loss to the relegation battler’s B side was the lowest point for the new owners and said:

“It’s shocking and it comes from the top. There’s five or six really top players on the pitch today and they’ve been beaten by Nottingham Forest’s B team. Less than 12 months ago, they were taking PSG to the cleaners.”

He added that the players, staff and fans are not on the same page and there is a massive disconnect at the club. He added that they decision-makers have spent money without a plan and said:

“There’s no connection between the players and the staff, the players and the fans. In some ways, it’s a good thing because it tells you that football isn’t just all about spending money, buying players and this revolving door. It’s about creating togetherness and there’s nothing there. They look like a broken football club right now.”

Chelsea face Liverpool next in the Premier League, and the Reds are coming into the game after a 3-2 loss to Manchester United.
