Young Chelsea starlet Jesse Derry has put out a message on social media updating fans on his status after a sickening clash of heads led him to be subbed off against Nottingham Forest yesterday.

“A dream come true to start at Stamford Bridge for my Premier League debut,” Derry wrote as the captain on his Instagram post.

“I’d like to thank all the Chelsea medical staff, everyone at St Mary’s hospital, my teammates, and all the fans for their great support. I can’t wait to be back playing in front of everyone very soon.”

Jesse Derry can hopefully get more minutes before season is done

Derry was the best player in Blue on the pitch in the time before he was taken off, which just adds to the frustration. We haven’t seen nearly enough trust in our academy players this year, it was brutally ironic that we finally got one starting, then saw him taken off in such awful circumstances.

We hope he’s got no concussion symptoms and can be back playing more minutes before the season is out.

In other news…

Francesco Farioli is keeping himself far away from the Chelsea project it seems, with the latest reports saying he’s staying in Porto.

Joao Pedro at least had the courage to speak to the cameras after yesterday’s defeat, where his goal was the sole positive.
