Stats show Romeo Lavia doesn’t offer enough in attack or defence
Romeo Lavia had another shocker for Chelsea as the Blues faced Nottingham Forest yesterday. He needs to be dropped.

Chelsea’s performance against Nottingham Forest yesterday was truly terrible, and young Jesse Derry was maybe the only Blue to emerge with some credit from the game after making his senior debut.
FotMob’s player ratings from the game show just how bad some of our players were. The lowest outfield score was Romeo Lavia, who picked up a 6.0/10.
It was the Belgian’s third start in a row, but even getting up to speed after his latest injury doesn’t seem to have helped his form.
Lavia playing more – but not playing better
The former Man City man had 3 defensive contributions in the game – no outfield starter had fewer for the Blues. As always, he was tidy on the ball, with 40 of 44 passes completed. But just 5 of those were passes into the final third, and he created 0 chances. Compare that with his fellow midfielder Enzo Fernandez who had 7, and you see the real difference.
Lavia doesn’t offer enough defensively, and too little offensively too. Having a midfielder who looks after the ball can be handy when the whole team is functioning, but right now Lavia isn’t doing anything well enough to deserve a place in the team.

Chelsea are apparently considering appointing Xavi Hernandez as their new coach, for the laughable reason that he fits with the “football identity” that we’ve apparently established.
Current coach Calum McFarlane isn’t able to give any good answers as to why we’re so bad.
