Chelsea fans keep hearing the same message but see no results
Chelsea were dreadful again yesterday, and interim coach Calum McFarlane couldn’t add any explanation for it post game.

The decision to sack Liam Rosenior after a horrific run of league defeats felt inevitable – something had to change.
The problem is, even with new man Calum McFarlane in charge, nothing has actually changed. Chelsea still don’t defend, don’t score goals and don’t look to be putting any effort in. The caretaker coach’s attempts to explain yesterday’s defeat could have been copied from any press conference in the last two months:
“The first 15 minutes was unacceptable. The manner in which the two goals were conceded has really set us back,” McFarlane said.
“It gave ourselves a mountain to climb. You can’t do that at this level, especially against a team that’s fighting for their life. That was pretty much, for me, something that we need to address and improve.”
Chelsea fans tired of hearing the same old story
It’s something we need to address and improve – that’s for sure. The problem is, nothing seems to have been done to address or improve it. Even over the course of just this last horrific run of 6 league defeats, nothing has improved. Zoom out to a bigger scope and we’re actually getting worse.
Having an endless succession of managers come and tell us they’re working on it, with no tangible results, doesn’t help much either.
In other news…
Cole Palmer’s stats have fallen off a cliff in the last 12 months, and he would be dropped if there were better options.
Palmer looks totally broken and has done for a while – the question is what comes next for the attacker.
