Updates On Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho, Robert Sanchez & 3 Others

Chelsea winger Pedro Neto was a surprise absentee from the matchday squad for the 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Monday afternoon.

It is believed that the Portuguese international picked up a knock in training in the days leading up to the fixture.

Neto’s injury is not thought to be serious, and there is an expectation that he will make a swift return to action.

Matches are coming thick and fast, with the Blues’ next game on Saturday lunchtime.

Interim head coach Calum McFarlane has confirmed that both the Argentinian and Neto should be available for selection again very soon.

Explaining the pair’s absence from the squad before the home loss to ForestMcFarlane said:

“It’s nothing serious. They both took knocks in training, so we’re just managing that.”

Garnacho is, therefore, expected to be back in contention for matches very soon.

The keeper was forced off with a head injury in the second half of the Forest game after a clash with Morgan Gibbs-White.

Sanchez will only be passed fit for upcoming fixtures if he satisfies the Premier League’s concussion protocols.
