In the BlueCo era, Chelsea have rarely made decisions that have gone down well with the supporters. And it looks like the club might be continuing on that path for the time being. Of course, the biggest story surrounding the Blues right now is their managerial search. They need to bring in someone to take the reins of the team and drive them back to success.

After how badly things turned out for Liam Rosenior, the club cannot afford another bad appointment, that is for certain. That being said, there are not a lot of elite managers out there who would be guaranteed successes either.

Still, there are a few names that Chelsea fans would prefer over the rest. One of them is Xavi Hernandez. Now, I can understand that many opinions might be skewed because of what he achieved as a player.

But even as a manager, Xavi has done decently well so far. While working with a young Barcelona side, dealing with financial constraints on top of that, he was able to deliver a La Liga title. At Al Saad, he won seven trophies in two-and-a-half years. So, he knows how to win from the dugout as well.

Chelsea make decision on Xavi and it is not one fans will agree with

According to GIVEMSPORT, sources say that Xavi has been ruled out. Those close to the Spaniard insist that formative contact was made, but he is not currently on Chelsea’s list of options.

So, Xavi is not going to be the next manager of Chelsea if the report is accurate. That is a questionable decision to be honest.

Yes, it is understandable if he does end up getting the job. But for him not to even be on the list of options is quite surprising to me. Stylistically, he felt like a great fit. And he has also shown the ability to work with youngsters. Then, take the fact that he is a big name who could get fans on board. It makes little sense to rule him out this early.

Who will be the next manager of the club?

That is the answer every Chelsea fan might be asking themselves. Whenever an interesting name crops up, it does not take long for him to be ruled out of the running.

Right now, the only one left that might move the needle in terms of fan interest is Xabi Alonso. And it would not be a surprise if he ends up getting ruled out soon as well.

There has been a lot of talk about Chelsea making tweaks and going for a top manager this summer. But when you look around, how many are there that fit that mold? Realistically, names like Andoni Iraola or Marco Silva cannot be considered top managers, no matter what their reputation is in footballing circles. They have not won anything.
