Premier League Team of the Week XI

The end of the Premier League season is now well in sight. Arsenal gained an edge over Manchester City in the title race, while Tottenham Hotspur overtook West Ham United in the relegation battle. That aside, who were this week’s top individual performers?

We’ve included players from teams such as Brentford, Bournemouth and Newcastle United in our latest team of the week XI – let’s see who made the final cut.

GK: Kevin Kelleher

One of the most under-appreciated goalkeepers in the world right now, Caoimhin Kellher turned out another textbook display between the sticks against West Ham in a thumping 3-0 win.

Brentford largely controlled the outing, but the Irish international still had plenty of work to do. He made four saves against the Hammers en route to maintaining his clean sheet.

RB: Keane Lewis-Potter

Another Brentford player, Keane Lewis-Potter is likewise highly underrated by the general audience. Tasked with containing the dangerous Jarrod Bowen, he didn’t give West Ham’s talisman a sniff throughout the game.

On top of this, Lewis-Potter also notched up an assist when he found Mikkel Damsgaard for Brentford’s third goal – this was a complete full-back performance.

CB: Marcos Senesi

Marcos Senesi showed everyone why he’s one of the best ball-playing defenders in the Premier League with a commanding display against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Palace offered little in the way of a threat in truth, but Senesi’s passing and movement on the ball was sensational – Bournemouth must brace themselves for his departure in the summer, especially with his contract due to expire in the summer.

CB: Sepp van den Berg

The third Brentford player in our XI – Sepp van den Berg marshalled his backline with authority well beyond his years against West Ham.

Aerially dominant and strong in the tackle, the Dutchman did everything you could’ve asked from him en route to keeping a clean sheet.
