Chelsea are reportedly preparing to reignite their long-standing pursuit of Victor Osimhen, with fresh claims suggesting the club are ready to make another major push for the Nigerian striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to recent reports, CHELSEA’s recruitment team remain firm admirers of Osimhen despite previous failed attempts to bring him to Stamford Bridge. The 27-year-old forward, currently starring for Galatasaray, has continued to enhance his reputation as one of Europe’s most lethal finishers following a prolific spell in Turkey. His goal record has only strengthened interest from top clubs, with Chelsea believed to be among those closely monitoring his situation once again.

Chelsea have been tracking Osimhen for several years, but a deal has repeatedly collapsed due to financial disagreements, particularly over wages and overall package structure. Even during previous transfer windows, the Blues were unwilling to fully meet the striker’s demands, allowing rivals to remain in the race.

Despite that, internal optimism is said to be growing that a renewed approach could succeed this summer, especially with Chelsea expected to prioritise a proven elite striker in the market.

Osimhen’s current valuation remains significant, with reports suggesting a fee in the region of €70–80 million would be required to secure his services, reflecting his status as one of the most consistent goal scorers in world football.

Competition, however, is expected to be fierce. Atletico Madrid have also been heavily linked with the striker as they look to strengthen their attacking options, meaning Chelsea may once again face a high-stakes battle for his signature.

Opinion: Why Osimhen would be a massive statement signing

From Chelsea’s perspective, Osimhen represents more than just a goalscorer — he would be a statement of intent. The club have spent heavily in recent years but still lack a consistently dominant centre-forward capable of delivering 25+ goals a season in all competitions. Osimhen solves that problem immediately.

His profile is exactly what CHELSEA have been missing: explosive pace, elite movement in the box, aerial dominance, and the ability to score in multiple ways. Unlike developmental forwards still adjusting to Premier League intensity, Osimhen arrives as a finished product with proven output in multiple leagues.

Just as importantly, his signing would signal that Chelsea are ready to compete again at the very top level rather than continuing a long-term project without a focal point in attack. However, the financial package and wage demands remain a potential sticking point, and Chelsea will need to decide whether they are finally prepared to fully commit.
