Kaveh Solhekol’s long piece for the Sky Sports website about Chelsea’s current situation doesn’t pull any punches when pointing to the problems at the club.
However, their chief reporter is also ready to “stick his neck out” and point to some positives at Stamford Bridge.
“Everybody’s kicking Chelsea when they’re down. Their fans are unhappy and it’s open season on Chelsea. I totally understand that,” Solhekol wrote.
“But I will still stick my neck out and say, if they get the right manager in and if they make a couple of smart, experienced signings, people with character, personality, leadership qualities, then I think Chelsea will be back soon. Things can turn around very quickly.”
Chelsea can only dream of Man U-style turnaround
It’s a bold claim, considering how rotten this project appears to be, from top to bottom. However, the point was made by Matt Law recently that it only took one good transfer window and one positive manager change to switch things up dramatically at Man U.
We can only hope Chelsea’s have the same luck.
In other news…
Solhekol also spoke about Enzo Maresca, claiming that Chelsea had been happy “to see the back of him.” How they must regret it now.
There’s something so horrible that could happen this weekend that we’re almost certain it will happen, given our recent record.
