Carlisle United vs Brackley Town « Vital Football
Carlisle United welcome Brackley Town for their last home game and of course, the last game of the regular season this weekend, with play-offs and third place confirmed for the Blues and relegation already confirmed for Brackley. It will certainly be interesting how both sides face each other.
The Teams
Carlisle United: The Blues have made it to the end of the National League season. A season of mishaps, jubilation and unique moments, a season of football that will be graded by the playoffs in the coming weeks. But we’ll come to all that on a later date, but how was last weekend?
Well, not great in all truth; however, a win is a win, and travelling down to Truro isn’t easy. It was very much a slugfest of a match, but as long as that magnificent travelling blue army got the three points they deserved, that’s all that mattered.
Brackley Town: Former Barrow manager Andy Whing returns to Cumbria this weekend with his relegated Brackley side and, rather amusingly… I mean, interestingly, his former side, Barrow, could be relegated to the National League this Saturday.
But it has been a dreadful year for the Saints as they have offered next to nothing. They go into this one with one win in 10 and two draws. It’s been an excruciating year for them, and we wish them all the best on their future endeavours.
Prediction
Well, I’m not going to be negative for once and go for a 4-0 win for the Cumbrians. Put a show on for the last game of the season and ride the wave of momentum going into the playoffs.
