Chelsea player nicknamed Liam Rosenior as ‘the supply teacher’; rumored details of Blues’ dressing room situation emerge after sacking

One Chelsea star allegedly nicknamed recently fired Liam Rosenior as “the supply teacher” during his final days as the Blues’ head coach.

Earlier this Wednesday (April 22), Chelsea parted ways with Rosenior after the ex-Strasbourg manager guided the club to seven losses in their last eight games in all competitions. The Blues hierarchy opted to sack the 41-year-old after a 3-0 league defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

According to BBC, Rosenior never managed to gain the trust of his entire squad as the Spanish-speaking contingent were particularly unimpressed. He also struggled to have his squad’s leaders be more participatory in team meetings after the Blues’ UEFA Champions League exit.

Chelsea players were also reportedly seen snubbing Rosenior’s backroom staff on video, with Wesley Fofana ignoring assistant coach James Walker after the recent 1-0 defeat against Manchester United. An unnamed player also gave Rosenior the nickname “the supply teacher”.

Furthermore, several Blues stars reportedly felt that Rosenior began to lose control of his locker room after implementing more of his own ideas. Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella also publicly voiced their frustrations about their team’s form during March’s international break.

Overall, Rosenior was in charge of the west London club for 23 matches across all competitions, guiding them to 11 wins and 10 losses. Under him, the Blues scored 47 goals and conceded a whopping 38 goals as well.

Chelsea icon worried after Liam Rosenior’s exit

Speaking on his TikTok channel this Wednesday, Chelsea icon John Terry claimed that he is concerned about the future of his former team after Liam Rosenior’s exit. He said (h/t Metro):

“I sit here worrying tonight about what is going to happen with our football club. Looking at us needing a manager after the weekend, I’m not sure when ownership are going to make a decision and bring a new manager in. Is a real top manager going to come to Chelsea at the moment in the position we are in?”

Terry, who played for the Blues from 1998 to 2017, added:

“(We) can’t buy players (and it’s) looking like we are going to have to sell potentially and that will be our best players, which is always tough. We will not be playing in European football, I hope I am wrong. Really, really frustrated and worried more importantly. I feel the anger, feel the frustration of the supporters.”

The Blues, set to be coached by caretaker Calum McFarlane, will next be in action against Leeds United in the FA Cup on Sunday (April 26).
