Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea keen

The 20-year-old’s impressive performances have caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe.

That’s according to Voetbal4U, who state Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all showing interest in Mika Godts.

In fact, the Premier League trio and two other clubs had their scouts watching him live in action in Ajax’s 2-2 draw against PSV Eindhoven last weekend. The Belgium international impressed by managing a goal and an assist.

Journalist Mounir Boualin reports Ajax sporting director Jordi Cruijff intends to retain Godts, but it won’t be easy. The outlet has relayed his comments.

“Cruyff wants to keep him this coming summer at all costs. At Ajax, they hope that he can take another step in his development next season,” he said.

“Although he is already having a top season, Ajax hopes that Godts can also show what he can do against the top clubs next season. In that regard, he can and must become even more consistent. He can also make his mark even further in Europe.”

Ajax open to summer sale

De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij indicates Ajax would find it difficult to retain him and Soccer News have relayed his comments.

“Here’s what I think: Godts is 20 years old, and he’s criticised for not showing up in the big games, even though he does in the smaller ones,” Verweij explained.

“Last year, he actually did score in the big games, but he thought: this is going to be my game. If you’re a little too overconfident and try to do a little too much, then it just doesn’t turn out the way you want it to.

“The fact that he’s doing that this season at Ajax is quite impressive. I think that if Ajax gets the chance and they can get a good price for him, they’ll go for it.”

Contract, value and agent info

Mika Godts has a contract until 2029 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €25m. Ajax are expected to request €50m or more to part ways with him.

Monaco based agency Rod Gooding Management represent the Ajax star. With Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea in the battle, it’ll be interesting to see where he will end up next.
