Champions League Semi-Final Team of the Round XI

Only one game remains in the Champions League this season. Arsenal and PSG will come to blows in a real clash of the titans in the final – but who made it into our semi-finals team of the round?

We’ll only be looking at games that took place in the second leg of the semi-finals – we already did a best XI for the first leg of the round. With that out of the way, let’s begin.

GK: David Raya

David Raya was the only goalkeeper out of the four who managed to maintain a clean sheet – as such, the Spanish international earns a spot in this XI practically by default.

That’s not to say he isn’t deserving of his place – far from it. Raya had plenty of work to do against Atletico Madrid, making a number of saves and remaining composed throughout.

RB: Marc Pubill

Atleti might have crashed out of the competition, but they weren’t entirely unimpressive. Marc Pubill, despite being on the losing side, put forth a respectable effort.

He managed to keep Leandro Trossard quiet, finishing the game with a 100% tackle success ratio – will we see him in Spain’s 2026 World Cup squad?

CB: William Saliba

Another textbook display from William Saliba – he may well be the best central defender in the world right now.

The French international made eight clearances against Atletico – more than anyone else in the game – and kept a clean sheet in doing so.

CB: Gabriel

Saliba was outstanding against Atleti, but Gabriel was every bit his equal. Together, they have formed the most formidable defensive partnership in the world.

With seven clearances and a tackle success ratio of 100%, Gabriel did not let anyone beyond him on Tuesday evening.
