Eight Chelsea stars who may have already played final game for club ahead of squad overhaul

Chelsea are bracing themselves for yet another squad shake-up in the summer transfer window. The Blues have endured a wretched season that could leave the club without European football.
As the Chelsea hierarchy consider who will be appointed as the next permanent manager, several players face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge. The appointment of a new manager, combined with fresh summer recruits, will inevitably trigger significant changes within Chelsea’s ranks.
Interim boss Calum McFarlane is due to oversee the club’s remaining four fixtures of the season, including the FA Cup final. However, eight players may have already worn a Chelsea shirt for the last time.
Alejandro Garnacho
Alejandro Garnacho has endured a disappointing first season at Chelsea. The winger made the switch from Manchester United and has produced glimpses of quality but failed to maintain consistency.

The 21-year-old has already been touted for a summer departure. Interim boss McFarlane handed the Argentina international a starting berth in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Leeds, but Garnacho sat out the recent defeat to Nottingham Forest through injury and could find himself fighting to force his way back into contention before the season draws to a close.

Robert Sanchez/Filip Jorgensen
The goalkeeping position at Chelsea has been largely settled throughout the campaign. Robert Sanchez has featured in 33 league matches, consigning Filip Jorgensen to a supporting role.
Spaniard Sanchez has regularly come under fire since his arrival from Brighton in 2023, while Jorgensen has similarly struggled to impress when handed his chances. The Denmark international recently stepped in for an injured Sanchez against Forest in his fourth league outing of the campaign.
It remains unclear which of the duo will retain their spot through to the end of the season. However, Chelsea’s incoming manager may well look to recruit a new goalkeeper upon taking charge, which would inevitably prompt at least one of the goalkeepers to seek pastures new.
Nicolas Jackson
The striker secured a loan switch to Bayern Munich last summer. Nicolas Jackson found himself slipping down the pecking order following the arrivals of both Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
The 24-year-old has served as the understudy to Harry Kane throughout his spell in Munich, netting 10 goals across 31 appearances. While Bayern reportedly do not intend to make his stay permanent, it seems unlikely that Jackson would opt to battle his way back into Chelsea’s thinking next term.
Tyrique George
The 20-year-old academy product may discover his opportunities becoming ever more scarce should he head back to Stamford Bridge during the summer. George has also found game time hard to come by since arriving at Everton on loan in February but the winger would still have plenty of potential admirers in the transfer market.
Axel Disasi
The defender has been a standout performer for West Ham United since arriving from his parent club in January. The 28-year-old found himself sidelined from the Chelsea squad earlier this season after being unable to engineer a departure last summer.
Disasi, who previously had a loan stint at Aston Villa, last featured for Chelsea in January 2025. While West Ham may be keen to retain the defender, particularly if the club maintain top-flight status, his displays could also attract interest from other clubs.
David Datro Fofana
David Datro Fofana is on his fifth temporary move away from Chelsea since arriving at the club in 2023. The 23-year-old, who featured four times for the Blues in his first season, joined Strasbourg in February and is unlikely to figure in Chelsea’s plans for next season.
Mykhailo Mudryk
Mykhailo Mudryk has been serving a doping suspension since December 2024. He is currently appealing his four-year ban and his case has been referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Mudryk arrived at Chelsea in January 2023, racking up 73 appearances for the club.
