Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe is under fire from the club’s fans after going on holiday with his girlfriend during a difficult period of the team’s season.

A petition calling for Mbappe to leave Real Madrid has now reached an astonishing 30 million signatures, with Kaveh Solhekol explaining on Sky Sports precisely what’s gone on.

Madrid are out of the Champions League and set to finish the campaign trophyless as their bitter rivals Barcelona will likely wrap up the La Liga title against them when they play this weekend.
Mbappe appears to be being made a scapegoat for this, despite his fine individual form for Los Blancos, though Solhekol has also questioned if this petition can really be taken seriously.

30 million people is a lot, with the population of Spain only around 50 million, so it is perhaps questionable if that many real people could have signed it this quickly.
Mbappe is one of the best players in the world on his day, but he’s occasionally divided opinion due to question marks over his attitude and professionalism.
The France international joined Real last season after leaving PSG on a free transfer. He’s gone on to score 85 goals in 100 games at the Bernabeu.
