Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and PSG have all put Morgan Rogers at the top of their summer wish lists. The 23-year-old Aston Villa forward is likely to cost at least £80 million, a price tag that could skyrocket if a bidding war breaks out before the 2026 World Cup. Even though he signed a long-term deal through 2031 last year, Villa are bracing for massive bids as the attacker continues to thrive under Unai Emery. Since his £15 million move from Middlesbrough in early 2024, Rogers has quickly become one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League.
Rogers is now a vital part of the Villa setup
He has racked up 27 goals and 21 assists in 115 games since joining Villa and has become a fixture in the England setup. Many now expect him to start at the World Cup, with his current form even threatening the starting spots of players like Cole Palmer and Jude Bellingham.
That rapid development is exactly why Villa feel they can demand such a high fee. Arsenal want a new left-winger this summer and have Rogers on a shortlist that includes Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon and PSG’s Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. At the same time, United are desperate for help on the left and have a clear link to the player through Michael Carrick, who is a top candidate for their permanent manager job and coached Rogers at Boro.
Why is a summer bidding war almost certain?
PSG boss Luis Enrique has tracked Rogers for over a year. He is serious about a deal because he sees the forward as the creative spark his team is missing. With so many heavyweights looking at him, Rogers will be one of the biggest names of the summer window, and the fee could easily hit £100 million if the top clubs start outbidding each other.
The noise around Morgan Rogers is the real deal. When four of the world’s biggest clubs across two different leagues move for a player at the same time, it’s a clear sign of his quality. Villa hold all the cards here; with a contract running until 2031 and Champions League football in the bag for next year, they don’t have to sell for anything less than a fortune.
The hype of a World Cup only pushes that price higher. Arsenal might need him most to fill that gap on the left, but PSG’s deep pockets and United’s connection to Carrick make this a tough one to call.
