Roy Keane and Gary Neville agree on Premier League side ‘in big trouble’ next season
Chelsea have endured a dismal season this term and the Blues have been sent a strong message that their slump could turn into a slightly more concerning change should major changes not be made

Chelsea could be in major trouble next season, should they not arrest their worrying slide, Roy Keane and Gary Neville have warned. The Blues have endured a dismal campaign this season.
They sit ninth in the Premier League table with just three games of the season remaining. The West London club are also onto their third manager of the season, with Calum McFarlane in charge until the end of the campaign following the exits of Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior.
On the latest episode of Stick To Football, Keane and Neville, as well as fellow guests Paul Scholes, Jill Scott and Ian Wright, debated a few alternative end-of-season awards, including the club in the most trouble, with Chelsea selected as the unanimous pick.
“I don’t think they know where they’re going,” Neville said, to which Ian Wright responded: “At the moment with Chelsea, what’s going on with Chelsea? I can see a slide with Chelsea.”

Things could potentially get worse for Chelsea between now and the end of the season. They could still conceivably finish as low as 16th in the table should they lose each of their closing three games and results go against them for the remainder of the season.
Interim boss McFarlane has said that everyone at Chelsea is keen to turn the situation around. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Liverpool, he said: “The players know, I know, the staff know, everyone at the club knows that the recent performances have been nowhere near the expected standard, and we’re going to do everything we can to improve that.
“We want to turn it around. We know the standards that this club has set, we aren’t meeting them at this moment, and the only thing we can control is how we behave and act every single day, and how hard we work to turn that level of performance around.
“There’s a lot of foundations for this team to have success. We’re not performing the way we should be in this moment, but I do think there are foundations there for this team to be successful.”
Following their clash with Liverpool, Chelsea will then take on Manchester City in the FA Cup final, which likely represents their final chance of silverware and European football this season. They will then take on Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland in the final two Premier League games of the campaign.
