Russo nominated for WSL Player of the Season | News
Alessia Russo has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Season award.
With three league games left to go against Aston Villa, Everton and Liverpool, our forward has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 19 WSL matches this term. She has also demonstrated her versatility throughout the campaign, sometimes being deployed in a number 10 role, and other times a more typical centre-forward.
Russo is on track to match her most prolific campaigns, having already equalled her best assist tally of four, and with nine goals, she is close to securing her fourth successive campaign with 10 or more goals.
For the Player of the Season award, she is going up against Kerstin Casparij (Manchester City), Kirsty Hanson (Aston Villa), Olivia Holdt (Tottenham Hotspur), Ruby Mace (Everton), Jess Park (Manchester United), Khadija Shaw (Manchester City) and Alyssa Thompson (Chelsea).
Cast your vote now, with voting closing at 5pm on Wednesday, May 13. Renée Slegers is a contender for Manager of the Season, while we have three nominations in the WSL Save of the Season competition.
