FootballTransfers runs through the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours, speculation and gossip, including updates on Joel Ordonez and Joao Pedro.
Joel Ordonez wanted
Chelsea have set their sights on completing a deal for Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez this summer, as per Transfers.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the past two seasons and it’s reported that he remains on their radar ahead of this summer, with the club keen to sign a new centre-back before the start of next season.
Ordonez has been a standout performer for Club Brugge this term and it’s understood that he is close friends with Chelsea star and fellow Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo.
Joao Pedro told to join Barcelona
Former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has urged Joao Pedro to complete a move to Barcelona this summer amid rumoured interest from Hansi Flick’s side.
Barcelona are actively searching for a new centre forward due to the uncertain future of Robert Lewandowski and they have been heavily linked with a move for Pedro in recent weeks after being informed that Julian Alvarez will cost in excess of €120 million.
Speaking to Brazilian outlet Somos Fanaticos (via The Evening Standard), Wright-Phillips admitted: “I believe it would be fantastic for Joao if he were to go. Personally, given the way Chelsea has been run, if I were him, I would do everything to complete this transfer.
“Playing at Camp Nou, alongside Raphinha and (Lamine) Yamal, would be great for him. He would score many goals, since we have already seen what he did in a team that wasn’t as good as this Chelsea team.
“If I were Joao Pedro, I would want to play in the Champions League, and I can’t see Chelsea qualifying for any European competition. Joao has the level and deserves to be playing in the Champions League.”

Man Utd make Cole Palmer decision
Manchester United have decided that a move for Chelsea star Cole Palmer is not a priority for them this summer, according to The Mirror.
While there seemed to be a real prospect of Palmer moving back to Manchester earlier this year, the 24-year-old has done his best to quell rumours, despite discontent among several star players at Chelsea, most notably Enzo Fernandez.
The England man has also not been close to his best form, and United have elected to take a step back from a deal.

Said El Mala twist
Chelsea’s reported pursuit of Koln wonderkid Said El Mala has taken a major twist following a big update on the wonderkid’s future.
Initially, Koln hoped they would be able to keep hold of the exciting winger for another season, but that stance has dramatically shifted and the Bundesliga club are now actively looking to sell El Mala in order to raise funds.
In recent days, Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the winger, with his mother reportedly viewing a permanent move to Stamford Bridge, before a one-year loan back at Koln, as a “dream scenario.”
However, Sky Germany insists that Chelsea are not at all involved in the race to sign the 19-year-old.
Brighton & Hove Albion, however, remain keen on El Mala and are still lurking in the background.

The Magpies have been heavily linked with a move for Delap in recent days, however they are currently focused on alternative targets.
