A win for Tottenham would effectively put them five points clear of West Ham given their superior goal difference.

So it would require West Ham to win their final two games and Spurs to lose to Chelsea and Everton.

When all is said and done, though, West Ham’s survival came down to moments.

With Taty Castellanos playing well, Nuno inexplicably subbed him off for the woeful Pablo.

The Brazilian forward is the son of Nuno’s close friend and his agent is, you guessed it, Jorge Mendes.

How West Ham paid £20m for Pablo is anyone’s guess but it sums up the club’s woeful recruitment that has put them on the brink of the Championship.

The substitution baffled West Ham fans. If Taty was to come off then Callum Wilson was the only option as far as they are concerned.

But it also cost West Ham the game.

Not only did Pablo squander a great chance in yet another terrible cameo where he showed a shocking lack of quality, but he was at fault for the Arsenal goal with lazy defending on the edge of the West Ham box.

Throw in the fact Pablo fouled David Raya to cancel out Wilson’s last gasp equaliser and it goes down as one of the worst substitutions in modern West Ham history.

The substitution has effectively ended up costing the Hammers their Premier League lives.

As Hammers News has revealed, Nuno will not be manager if the club are relegated.

And bringing Pablo on when he did and what transpired as a result, Nuno deserves the axe anyway.

When West Ham’s board look at who they want to manage this great club in the second tier next season, they must find someone more positive than Nuno.

He opted for Pablo’s workrate over Wilson’s attacking class once again and this time it proved fatal.
