Chelsea fans would have been desperate for West Ham United to beat Arsenal on Sunday.

Doing so would have dealt Arsenal a massive blow in the Premier League title race, while it also would have put Tottenham Hotspur back in the relegation zone.

Unfortunately for Chelsea supporters, the Gunners were able to beat West Ham in very controversial fashion.

With all of that being said, from a Chelsea perspective, there could be at least one positive from that defeat should it end up contributing to the Hammers getting relegated.

Chelsea should snap up Jarrod Bowen this summer

Relegation from the Premier League should see Jarrod Bowen depart the London Stadium, with the winger being too good to play in the Championship.

If Bowen does become available as a result of West Ham dropping down to the Championship, Chelsea should be all over him.

He is one of the best attackers in the English top flight, capable of playing on the right and up front.

Bowen scores goals and assists them. In 36 league games this season, he has scored eight goals and provided 10 assists. In the previous campaign, the Englishman registered 22 goal contributions in total, showing how much of a threat he is in the final third.

Bowen is 29 now, possessing the kind of experience that this Chelsea squad currently lacks. He would be a perfect addition to their dressing room and does appear to be someone whom the club are actually considering.

Last month, it was claimed that Chelsea have Bowen on their shortlist. If West Ham go down, he needs to be near the top of it.

Joe Cole a fan of Jarrod Bowen

Joe Cole is one Chelsea supporter who would certainly welcome the arrival of Bowen at Stamford Bridge. The former Chelsea star is a huge admirer of the England international.

Speaking about him last year on TNT Sports, Cole said: “He loves this club, he’s a hero at this club. If football stopped tomorrow, he’d be here at this club. He’s the right man to captain this side and take this club into the next generation. He’s been absolutely outstanding.”

Of course, with it becoming increasingly likely that West Ham will be in the Championship next season, not even Bowen’s love for the Hammers may be enough to keep him in east London.
