Chelsea leading race to sign Lautaro Rivero

River Plate defender Lautaro Rivero has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season, and Chelsea are keen on him.
According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Udinese is also interested in signing the 22-year-old central defender, but Chelsea has the upper hand. It remains to be seen whether they can sign the South American in the summer.
He is a talented young defender with a bright future and all the attributes to become a star. Rivero has been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent months.

Chelsea will need to improve defensively if they want to compete for trophies next season. Rivero has the qualities to thrive in the Premier League, and he would be a long-term investment for the London club. Premier League move would be ideal for Rivero
This has been a mediocre season for Chelsea, and they will look to bounce back strongly. They need to tighten up at the back, and Rivero could be an upgrade on players like Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi.
The 22-year-old defender will look to establish himself as a key player for the Argentina national team, and the move to the Premier League will certainly help him. More exposure in English football will help him cement his place in the national team.
