Joao Pedro happy to stay at Chelsea amid Barcelona interest

His exceptional first campaign at Stamford Bridge has seen him crop up on Barcelona’s shortlist for a new striker, with replacing an ageing Robert Lewandowski on their agenda.

Despite Deco’s desire to sign Pedro this summer, Nizaar Kinsella has stated that the Brazil international is at his dream club in Chelsea, and he is happy remaining there.

He said: “Not only is Joao Pedro considered not for sale, he is also understood to be happy at Chelsea – even if he is not satisfied with the club’s current league position.

“He grew up watching the Premier League, which is why he chose Watford, and when he says it is a dream to play for Chelsea, he means it. Barcelona may admire him but are aware he is not a viable target and have other strikers in mind.”

Chelsea believe Pedro is now their best player, and despite a fear they will have to sell big this summer, the striker is not on their list of potential sales.

Despite a woeful Premier League campaign in West London, they still have the chance of leaving with their first domestic cup trophy since 2018.

Pedro is a shoo-in to start up front for the Blues, who are looking to pick up their first win against Manchester City since 2021.

The Brazilian can make it 30 goal involvements in all competitions this season with a goal or assist in the final, an incredible number given the fact he has not taken a single penalty this season.
