Liverpool is up against Crystal Palace in the Premier League today, and fans have gathered to protest the recent ticket price increase.
Liverpool recently raised ticket prices, and the decision did not go down well with the fans. The club was heavily criticised on social media after the announcement, and the fans have chosen to protest at Anfield today.

Liverpool fans unhappy with price hike
Liverpool executive director Billy Hogan wrote to the fans, explaining the club’s decision and the reasoning behind the ticket price increase. The decision was taken to cope with the rising match-day costs and to run the club sustainably.
LFC keep repeating that their matchday costs have increased by 85% in the last decade.

Billy Hogan reacts to Liverpool fans’ protests
However, he has done himself no favours at Anfield today when he was spotted laughing at the protest during the game. The Liverpool fans raised yellow cardboard signs in unison to protest the price hike, and Hogan was seen laughing as the camera panned towards him.

The Liverpool executive director has been criticised heavily for his reaction on social media, and it remains to be seen whether the club decides to address the situation going forward.
Liverpool fans are clearly unhappy with the decision to raise ticket prices, and the club’s CEO’s reaction will only make matters worse. Time will tell whether the protest forces the club to backtrack on their decision in the coming months.
