Our final home game of the season sees us take on Burnley in a huge match at Emirates Stadium, as we aim to move within touching distance of the Premier League title.
Understandably, some supporters will be full of nerves heading into another massive game, but thankfully Emirates Stadium has been a fortress this season with us suffering just two defeats on home soil in 2025/26.
And when it comes to finishing with a flourish in N5, our record in our final home game of a Premier League campaign is exceptional.
We have only lost our final home league game in one of the last 28 seasons, winning 23 of those, and are unbeaten in the last 14 campaigns since a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa in 2010/11. We’ve also won all of the last six final home games of a league campaign.
In fact, since the Premier League was founded in 1992/93, we’ve lost just four of 33, giving us the most successful final home game of the season record.

We’ve collected an average of 2.33 points per game in that time, the highest of any side to have played in two or more seasons.
Wins have been the currency in recent seasons, seeing us sign off in N5 with a flourish. We’ve won all of our final home games under Mikel Arteta, with Brighton in 2019 the last opponent to stop us winning, holding us to a 1-1 draw.

Playing Burnley in our final home game of the season has happened only once in the Premier League era, coinciding with an historial occasion back in May 2018.
After 22 years, Arsene Wenger signed off as our manager, bringing the curtain on an illustrious career in N5 with a 5-0 victory. A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang double, as well as goals from Alex Iwobi, Saed Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette ensured a perfect afternoon at Emirates Stadium.
However there has been an even more crucial final home fixture against Burnley in our history. On the final day of the 1952/53 season, having recovered from being a goal behind, a 3-1 success over the Lancastrians saw us and Preston North End finish with identical records of 21 wins, 12 draws and nine defeats.
In those days, goal average was needed to separate the sides, and we pipped Burnley’s local rivals to the championship by a mere 0.099 of a goal.
