Chelsea will sign more senior and ready-made players for Alonso
It looks like Chelsea fans are going to love Xabi Alonso already for what changes he is apparently forcing at the club.
Pretty much every single Chelsea fan, former Chelsea player, journalist, pundit, and anyone who knows football has been saying that Chelsea’s way of recruiting was not going to work and that it needed more balance added in with just signing young and raw talents who may or may not come good in years to come. It was always going to fail, and it HAS failed.

Chelsea needed to target more senior and ready made players to add into the young rising stars they had signed in order to create that perfect balance, and it finally seems like they might have seen sense on that, with the help of Alonso who has just been announced as the new Chelsea manager, officially starting his role at the beginning of July.
Chelsea in for more senior players
According to a report from ESPN this weekend, Chelsea now understand the importance of adding more senior players to a talented, but young and largely unproven squad, while Xabi Alonso also expects his voice to carry more weight than those of his predecessors when it comes to team management and development.
As well as that, the report goes on to state that Alonso wants Chelsea to finesse their recruitment model by signing more ready-made players rather than focusing solely on emerging talent.
So, good news all around.

Chelsea expect to be seriously challenging for the Premier League within three seasons, if not sooner according to reports. Chelsea fans will be demanding it be earlier than three seasons though!
