Crysencio Summerville’s West Ham exit seems to be edging closer.
It’s been well known for sometime now that the 24-year-old will likely leave London Stadium this summer, especially after relegation was confirmed back in May.

The winger’s performances for the Netherlands at the World Cup fuelled exit reports and the club knows it will not be able to keep him at the club this summer.

Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the player this summer, and it appears the Blues have made the first move.
According to prominent Chelsea journalist Si Phillips, Chelsea have opened talks with West Ham over a move for Summerville.

It’s claimed Xabi Alonso’s side had already extensively scouted the Dutchman when he was at Leeds United, and now they’re ready to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

West Ham continue to hold firm on valuation

As we reported yesterday, West Ham are sticking to their guns on player valuations this summer.

They were adamant they would only sell Mateus Fernandes for nothing less than £85m and eventually got that fee when Tottenham agreed to meet the asking price.

And now they’re quoting £50m to anyone showing an interest in Summerville.

Chelsea have been told what the asking price is and while a deal is by no means close to agreement, it’s believed talks are ‘developing.’

On top of that, the Blues have also had dialogue with Summerville’s agent. The player’s wage demands are not believed to be an issue for Chelsea.

Deal could play into West Ham’s hands

Indeed, Summerville isn’t the only topic of conversation between the Chelsea and West Ham boardrooms.

Its been reported for some time now that the Hammers are interested in bringing Axel Disasi back to east London after his successful six-month loan spell last season.

The Frenchman is surplus to requirements at Chelsea and is expected to leave the club permanently this summer.

Despite relegation to the Championship, West Ham appear to be hopeful of a deal to bring Disasi back to the club.

The defender admitted that he loved playing for the club during his short spell and wished the club an immediate return to the Premier League after he left.

Whether he would be keen on playing a season in the Championship remains to be seen, but previous reports have suggested he isn’t ruling out a return.

If a deal for Disasi is there to be done, West Ham could use Chelsea’s interest in Summerville as leverage.

A player plus cash deal for Summerville isn’t entirely out of the question in this situation, and West Ham could look to include a move for Disasi in any deal that sees Summerville head to Stamford Bridge.
