Andrey Santos leaks what Cole Palmer told him straight after Man United transfer
The midfielder has joined Manchester United from Chelsea as the club continues to revamp its midfield options.

New Manchester United midfielder Andrey Santos has revealed that he received a message from Cole Palmer upon his former Chelsea teammate hearing about his move to Old Trafford. Santos completed the £50 million transfer earlier this week.
The Brazilian has signed a five-year contract, with United paying an initial £48 million fee, with £2 million in add-ons to Chelsea. Santos was keen to move on from Stamford Bridge as he searched for more regular game time.
The 22-year-old has been signed by United as part of the midfield rebuild, with the club also confirming the £35 million capture of Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa. They are reportedly still looking to add a third new player to their options before the end of the window.
Santos joined Chelsea in January 2023, and has had loan spells with Vasco de Gama, Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg. Last season saw him be a part of the Blues’ first team squad, where he played alongside Palmer.
He has now revealed the message he received from his former teammate.”I’m so excited to be here,” he told MUTV. “
“So pleased. I got a message from Cole (Palmer), he sent a message because he was born here (Manchester), so he knows everything here.
“He said all the best for you, for your career, you deserve this, a lot of things. So I’m so excited to be here in Manchester with my new teammates.”
Palmer also took to social media to publicly wish Santos well. “What a player! Good luck bro (red heart emoji),” he wrote in the comments section of United’s Instagram post.
The revelation comes amid reports over Palmer’s future, with some suggestions that he was unsettled in London and has been eyeing a move back to Manchester. Despite coming up through the youth team at Manchester City, the England international is a boyhood United fan.
Although they hold the attacking midfielder in high regard, United decided against making a move for him in the current transfer window.

Palmer has previously brushed off suggestions of homesickness, in an interview with the Guardian back in April, he said: “Everyone just talks.
When I see it I just laugh. Obviously Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don’t miss it. Maybe I’ll miss it if I don’t go for three months or something.
“But then when I get home I think there’s nothing there for me anyway. I’ve got no plans to move from Chelsea. We’ve still got a lot to play for.”
