What happened last time out?
AFC Bournemouth completed the double over Tottenham Hotspur during 2025/26, beating Spurs at their home with a solitary Evanilson goal on 30th August 2025.
According to their match-day announcer, a win for Spurs on that day would have sent them to the top of the league.
But by the time the two clubs met again on 7th January 2026, both sides had reached double figures for games without a win.
Goals from Evanilson, Eli Junior Kroupi and Antoine Semenyo (on his final appearance for the club), lifted the Cherries up to 15th, just one point behind Spurs.

Roberto De Zerbi will remain in charge of Tottenham for the start of next season. He will be aware that over the calendar year, Tottenham had Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor in charge of Spurs. All failing to lift the club away from the threat of relegation from the Premier League.
Since the end of last season, Tottenham have tried to fix their problems by throwing a huge amount of money at the transfer window.
So far they have spent € 267 million signing Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke.
Whilst they have also signed Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson, Cole Ramsey and of course, Marcos Senesi all on free transfers.

Having spent over a quarter of a billion in the transfer window to-date, Tottenham will be hoping to avoid a “17th again Ole Ole” scenario and will probably privately be aiming for European qualification.
