Morgan Rogers’ record vs Fulham is great news for Chelsea ahead of likely debut
Morgan Rogers could make his debut for Chelsea in a west London derby against Fulham next month.
Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Rogers from Aston Villa after agreeing a £117m deal with their Premier League rivals.
The attacking midfielder has quite a good record against Fulham, so they will not be looking forward to welcoming him to Craven Cottage on 24 August.
CHELSEA FANS: How are we feeling about this?😮
£117m out of absolutely nowhere!
In total, Rogers has faced Fulham four times in his career and has only been on the losing side once.
The 23-year-old has three wins against the west London club and one defeat, according to Transfermarkt. Across those games, Rogers has also managed to score one goal and provide one assist.
He will now be expected to make another appearance versus Fulham when Chelsea travel to Craven Cottage for their first game of the new Premier League season.
Rogers is a very versatile attacker, so it will be interesting to see where Xabi Alonso uses him on the night. The Englishman’s best position is the No.10 role, but he can also play on both flanks.

In England’s heartbreaking semi-final defeat to Argentina at the World Cup, Thomas Tuchel used Rogers on the right, where he was able to cross the ball and set up Anthony Gordon’s goal.
Rogers’ imminent arrival all but confirms the end of Alejandro Garnacho’s career at Stamford Bridge. Garnacho was already heading for the exit door, but with a new £100m attacker joining the club, there is definitely no way back for the former Manchester United man.
Garnacho really struggled in the Premier League last term, scoring just one goal in 24 outings. In contrast, Rogers managed to net 10 times in 37 outings, helping Villa qualify for the Champions League.
He will now be tasked with trying to help Chelsea make a return to Europe’s elite competition.
