Mastantuono can leave Real Madrid amid Tottenham transfer links

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Franco Mastantuono has been given the green light to leave Real Madrid on loan this summer.
The talented young Argentine has struggled to settle at the Bernabeu, and it now looks like he could do with leaving the club for a temporary spell away in order to gain some experience.

Tottenham have been among the clubs linked with Mastantuono in recent times, with the north Londoners said to have been in contact over a move, according to Sport, as cited and translated by Goal.
It remains to be seen if Spurs are still in the mix as they may not favour a loan, but it seems that’s all that’s on offer from Madrid right now, according to Romano’s post on X below…

Romano posted: “Real Madrid are ready to give the green light to Franco Mastantuono’s exit on loan this summer. No buy option clause; straight loan as Mastantuono seen in similar position as Endrick in January. More than 5 clubs in Spain and abroad, on it.”
So there’s no specific mention of Spurs here, but there’s every chance they’re one of the clubs being referred to as it seems a long list of suitors are eyeing up the 18-year-old.
Franco Mastantuono could shine at Tottenham, but this deal shouldn’t be a priority
Even if Mastantuono looks like a player with a bright future, it’s hard to see there being much benefit for Tottenham if they only sign him on loan for one season.
This is a teenage talent in need of playing time to gain experience, and it makes sense that Real still plan to have him back in the future.

For Spurs, however, a ready-made player who can make an impact right away is more what’s needed for the club to avoid another relegation battle.
Of course, THFC might still look for opportunities to invest in young talents for the future as well, but then someone like Mastantuono would need to join on a long-term contract rather than just for one season.
All in all, this doesn’t look like a deal that makes sense as a priority for Tottenham right now.
