Man United captain Bruno Fernandes is open to Galatasaray move
Manchester United could face one of the most important decisions of their summer after fresh reports claimed their captain is open to joining Galatasaray.
The Turkish champions are exploring an ambitious move, although it remains unclear whether they are prepared to meet the financial conditions required to take him away from Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes has entered the final year of the three-year contract he signed in 2024, but United hold an option to extend it until 2028.
His agreement reportedly contains a £56 million release clause for clubs outside England, which gives Galatasaray a possible route to completing the deal without lengthy negotiations.
However, no formal offer or club-to-club agreement has been reported.

According to the Manchester Evening News, citing Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Fernandes is open to joining Galatasaray this summer.
United are reportedly asking for approximately £64 million, although the existence of a lower overseas release clause creates some uncertainty around that valuation.
Galatasaray would still need to convince United that the clause’s conditions have been met or negotiate a separate agreement.
They must also find room for the midfielder’s salary, which could make the overall package extremely expensive by Turkish football standards.
The player’s reported willingness is an important breakthrough, but it does not mean a transfer is close. Galatasaray’s ability to finance the move remains the biggest unanswered question.
United should seek clarity from Fernandes
The latest claim also conflicts with earlier information. talkSPORT reported in June that Fernandes had told teammates and people close to him that he planned to remain at United for at least another season.
That difference shows why the situation should be treated cautiously. Interest can develop quickly during a transfer window, but United should not consider selling their captain unless he clearly asks to leave.
Fernandes remains the team’s main creator and one of Michael Carrick’s most influential players.
Replacing his goals, assists and leadership this late in the summer would be extremely difficult.
United should open immediate talks over a new contract while privately asking for a firm decision.
If he remains committed, the club should remove the uncertainty surrounding the release clause.
If he genuinely wants Galatasaray, United must demand the best possible deal and reinvest the money quickly rather than allowing another major transfer saga to drift towards deadline day.
