Estevao hasn’t given up hope of playing at the World Cup

Estevao has not given up hope of participating in the World Cup this summer despite currently being injured according to reports.

The Brazilian reportedly suffered a grade four hamstring injury in the defeat against Manchester United earleir this month, putting his participation at the World Cup in doubt.

Interim coach Calum McFarlane has confirmed Estevao won’t play for Chelsea again this season, and his debut campaign ends with eight goals and four assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

Estevao hasn’t given up hope of playing in the World Cup

It’s believed the 19-year-old wants to return to Brazil to undergo treatment and be closer to his family, but Chelsea are reportedly playing hardball over Estevao to travel.

Estevao is widely regarded as the most talented player to emerge from Brazil since Neymar, and it would be a huge blow for Brazil if he were to miss out.

The teenager has five goals in 11 caps for the national team, and is starting to establish himself as a key player for Carlo Ancelotti.

Many presumed Estevao’s injury would rule him out of the World cup, but The Sun have reported that may not be the case.

The reports states a source close to the player told them:

“We hope his recovery will be fast, we have little time, but his injury isn’t so complicated.”
