Arsenal and Chelsea officials travel for transfer mission – Insistence player can’t reject offer
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are all chasing Ajax’s Mika Godts for the summer.
Last month, Sport Witness relayed news that Manchester United initiated contact over a move.
Manchester United aren’t alone as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen on signing the 20-year-old.
He joined the Eredivisie side from KRC Genk in January 2023. The forward has enjoyed regular minutes since last season and has been a standout player for the Dutch club this season.
To put it in context, he scored 16 goals and contributed 13 assists from 39 matches so far.
His Eredivisie stats this season are as follows:

The attacker’s performances for Ajax helped him make debut for Belgium’s senior team in March. It also caught the attention of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and other clubs.
Arsenal and Chelsea on scouting mission

The Belgium international, who is on several top clubs’ agenda for the summer. Journalist Lentin Goodijk reports Arsenal and Chelsea will send their officials to watch him live in Ajax’s league clash against PSV Eindhoven on May 2nd.
“This goal is going global, and then people will look back: oh, he has already scored 16 and provided 11 assists. Against PSV, Arsenal, Chelsea and FC Barcelona will have their scouts in the stands,” he said.
The reporter, who mainly focuses his coverage on Ajax, talks about Manchester United and Manchester City and insists Godts could change clubs in the summer.
“Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and all the other big clubs in Europe have him on their list,” Goodijk explained.
“Godts is not only beautiful to look at, but he also has all the statistics. He has created the most chances of all Eredivisie players, the most successful dribbles. At some point, you reach a category of offers that you can no longer turn down.”
Godts backed to leave Ajax
Meanwhile, former Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson insists only English clubs can afford his asking price. He discussed Mika Godts on Ziggo Sport and VI have relayed his comments.
“Because the Netherlands remains a country for development. If he leaves this summer, he will need time at his next club,” he added.
“I can see him playing in Spain, because as an attacker you have a bit more room there. But who would pay that amount of €50-60m there? There isn’t a club like that there; you would almost have to go to England. And then you have to deal with a completely different intensity.”
Contract, value and agent info
Mika Godts will have three years left on his contract at Ajax at the end of this season. His value, as per Transfermarkt, is €25m, the highest of his career.
