Man City are among the clubs who are weighing up a move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claim that Enzo Maresca’s team, Liverpool and “sides in Saudi Arabia” have all been monitoring the Portuguese international’s situation.

It is believed that Chelsea are not against selling Neto, but they would demand a sizeable fee.

Whether City do make a move for the 26-year-old may depend on outgoings before the transfer window closes.

Savinho’s Man City future is likely to be key

Tottenham have been heavily linked with the Brazilian for the best part of twelve months. After failing to land his signature last year, it was assumed that they would return with another offer this summer.

However, despite claims that City and Spurs have had extensive talks about a deal for Savinho, there is no suggestion that an agreement is close between the two clubs.

Were that to change, and the 22-year-old is sold, it would open the door for a new winger to be brought in, with Neto seemingly on the shortlist of candidates.

Maresca has shown interest in more than one Chelsea player

Neto has worked with the Italian before, so it is not a surprise that his name has been linked with a switch to the Etihad.

The forward isn’t the only one of Maresca’s former players who has been mentioned as a potential City target, with Enzo Fernandez and Malo Gusto also said to have been discussed.

With Fernandez’s asking price having been set at £120m, and with the Cityzens already pursuing Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddithe interest in the Argentinian is unlikely to be firmed up.

In terms of Gusto, Chelsea are said to be holding out for £75m, and that is not a figure Director of Football Hugo Viana is reportedly willing to pay.
